Cesky hoping to build on two wins

BRACKNELL, UK – Bracknell’s Czech star Jaroslav Cesky is hoping his side can build some momentum this weekend coming off their first four-point weekend since November. Cesky was pivotal in last weekend’s double win against Romford and Sheffield. He said: “It was a very important weekend for us. We wanted to get the four points and we are very pleased that we were able to achieve it. “We played very well defensively and that was the reason for our success. It is always good when you win two games, especially when we are getting so close to the end of the season.” Bracknell will hope Cesky and his Czech team-mate Michal Pinc will continue their good form this weekend with four more points on the line against the top two sides in the league. The Bees visit high-flying Milton Keynes tonight before returning to The Hive for a Valentines Day showdown with local rivals Slough, currently sitting in second place in the English Premier League.

Already this season, Cesky has 42 goals and 45 assists in 38 matches while Pinc has 53 assists and 28 goals. Although the Bees have beaten both Slough and the Lightning this season, they came off second best to both teams last month. Cesky said:  “We have a tough weekend ahead of us, and we are hoping to steal some points again.” The Bees could potentially be playing their playoff opponents as they currently sit in 8th place with their challengers top of the pile. The game against Slough is given more spice as several of Bracknell’s players used to play for the Jets including captain Terry Miles and Adam Bicknell. Cesky’s good form has taken the interest of other clubs, but the Czech is more than happy to remain a Bee. “I am enjoying playing for The Bees very much. It is a fantastic organisation with great fans, and it is great to be part of it.” Contact the author david.bol@prohockeynews.com
