TEMPE, Ariz. – Fresh off the completion of the 2010-11 season, the Central Hockey League announced on Friday that a total of 84 regular season games were played in front of capacity crowds, marking the most in any single season in the 19-year history of the league. This beats the high-mark set during the 2009-10 season when 81 regular season games were played in front of sold out crowds. Combining the regular season and the playoffs, there were 97 sellouts in the league this season accounting for 15% of the games played. With an increase of close to 10%, the Missouri Mavericks led the league in increased average attendance seeing their average rise from 4,935 fans in 2009-10 to 5,406 fans in 2010-11. The Mavericks finished the season with 18 sellouts (17 during the regular season). Finishing second in increased average attendance was the Wichita Thunder, who finished with an average of 5,342 fans (a 6% increase from the 2009-10 season). 2010-11 CHL attendance figures by team:

Fort Wayne led the league in attendance averaging 7,460 fans with two sellouts of 10,480 fans, while Missouri finished second with an average of 5,406. The Rapid City Rush finished the year with 15 total sellouts (14 during the regular season) and raised their average attendance by more than 100 fans finishing the regular season with an average of 4,923 fans. The Colorado Eagles once again sold out all of their regular season and playoff games leading the league with 44 total sellouts. Overall, the CHL welcomed more than 2.5 million fans through the turnstiles in 663 combined regular season and playoff games averaging 3,784 fans over the course of the season.
