Busy day on trading deadline in QMJHL

QUEBEC CITY, P.Q. — With trading deadline of January 8th teams were very active before 12:00 pm the last hour where all the trades should have been submitted to the QMJHL headquarter. Besides the opening day of last trading period for teams to trade players under 20-years of age on December 22nd 2012, where a total of 14 trades were confirmed, the last day of January 8th saw 11 trades made.
If Quebec stole the show back on December 22 with 7 of 14 trades on the opening day, the Remparts general manager Patrick Roy made only one trade bringing young 16-year old defenseman Cody Donaghey from Rouyn-Noranda. In return, Quebec sent the Huskies a second round pick (previously acquired from Victoriaville) in 2013 and their third round selection in 2014.
The first two teams launching the busy trade-day were Prince Edward Island and Victoriaville. The Rocket sent right winger Carl Chenier, left defenseman Mark Trickett and third round in 2014 to Victoriaville, in return, the Tigres sent defenseman Troy Vance and a fifth round on 2014.
The second trade saw Halifax sending right defenseman Randy Gazzola, a first round selection in 2014 (previously belonging to Quebec), and first round in 2015 to Val-d’Or. In return the Foreurs sent left defensemam Matt Murphy and second round 2014 (previously belonging to Sherbrooke).
Third trade of the day saw Shawinigan sending right winger Brett Malone to Saint John. In return the Sea Dogs sent their tenth round in 2013.
Fourth trade involved Victoriaville and Acadie-Bathurst. Victoriaville sent defenseman Vytal Cote to Acadie-Bathurst, in return the Titan sent to the Tigres a fifth round selection in 2014 (previously belonging to Drummondville.
Fifth trade of the day was previously mentioned involving Rouyn-Noranda and Quebec where defenseman Cody Donaghey formerly playing at Royn-Noranda and dealt to Quebec.
Sixth trades involved Rouyn-Noranda and Rimouski trading goaltenders. The Huskies sent goalie Robin Gusse to the Oceanic. Rimouski sent Carl Hozjan to Rouyn-Noranda.
Seventh trade: Victoriaville sent left winger Lucas Batt to Moncton, in return the Wildcats sent left defenseman Julien Proulx and a fourth round pick in 2014.
Eighth trade: Chicoutimi sent goaltender Francis Desrosiers and right center Jeremy Gregoire to Baie-Comeau. The Drakkar sent right winger Thomas Gobeil, right defenseman Loik Leveille a first round pick in 2013 and 2014.
Ninth trade:Acadie-Bathurst sent left defenseman Samuel Robert to Cape Breton. The Screaming Eagles sent their seventh round pick in 2013.
Tenth trade: Cape Breton sent right center Alexandre Lavoie to Rimouski, in return the Oceanic sent a ninth round pick in 2013 (previously belonging to Cape Breton and a third round selection in 2014.
The last trade of the day before 12:00 pm saw Moncton sending defenseman Kevin Gagne to Rimouski, in return the Oceanic sent to the Wildcats their first round selection in 2013, their European first round pick in 2014, first round pick in 2015 and a second round in 2015.
In between these two busiest days, 27 other trades were confirmed by the QMJHL headquarter in 11 days.
