Bulls strong over Condors

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The San Francisco Bulls (11-15-1-2, 25pts) scored twice on the power play and once shorthanded, to defeat the Bakersfield Condors (7-16-1-2, 17pts) 4-1 Saturday night at Rabobank Arena.

Just 1:28 into the game the Bulls broke the ice, when Justin Bowers finished a 2-on-1 for the first tally of the night. Bakersfield continued to pressure the Bulls and connected on a power play with just over six minutes remaining in the frame. Jacob Lagace buried his sixth of the season into a wide open net on a feed from Zach Cohen.

San Francisco controlled the play in the middle stanza, holding an 11-6 shot advantage in the period, and regaining the lead.    Dean Oullet put home a power play marker with just over four minutes remaining in the second to make it 2-1.

In the opening minutes of the third the Condors were on the power play, but a fallen defender at the blueline led to an odd-man rush for the Bulls, and Kris Belan converted for a 3-1 lead. A power play goal at 7:46 gave the visitors a three-goal cushion, and the final margin.

The Condors head out on the road for their next four games, including Sunday night’s 11:59 p.m. matchup in Las Vegas. They return home to host Stockton on Thursday, Dec. 27 for Boomtown Bakersfield, and Friday, Dec. 28.

The Bulls improved to 5-1-0-1 against Bakersfield this season, including 3-0-0-1 at Rabobank Arena. The Bulls next play at HP Pavilion, home of the San Jose Sharks, on Monday, December 17 at 7:30, when they host the Stockton Thunder.
