BRIDGEPORT, CT – Down three games to none and on the verge of being swept out of the playoffs, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers mustered up a great effort against the Hershey Bears for a 4-1 win to send the first round playoff series to a fifth game back in Hershey.
Bridgeport scored the game’s first four goals and never looked back on their way to victory.
After being blitzed the night before 7-2, the Sound Tigers could have folded their tents and gone home but Andrew MacDonald gave a two goal performance and Mikko Koskinen made 26 saves in the win. Braden Holtby was in goal for Hershey instead of starting goalie Michal Neuvirth and it showed making 24 saves on 28 shots.
Andrew Gordon scored the last goal of the game for Hershey at the 6:55 mark of the third period. Sean Bentivoglio and Robin Figren also scored for Bridgeport. The Bears went 0-3 on the power play but the Sound Tigers scored three times in nine chances.
Game Five is Wednesday night in Hershey. If necessary game six will be back in Bridgeport on Friday and Game seven will be back in Hershey on Saturday.
