Team News: On Thursday a mere day before the Olympic Roster freeze, the Blues sent Steve Wagner to Pittsburgh for Nate Guenin. The 27 year old will report to Peoria to begin his time with the St. Louis Blues. Guenin was drafted by the New York Rangers and has seen time with Philadelphia and Pittsburgh as well.
The Blues will receive a break from play through the remainder of February for the Olympic Games. While a handful of Blues will play, the bulk of the team will enjoy some time off in preparation for their final run. The Blues next game will be on March 2, 2010 in Phoenix, Arizona against the Coyotes.
Blue’s Clues: The Blues won three games in a row at home this week for just the second time this season. Not since January 12-16, 2010 has St. Louis managed to pick up three home ice wins in a row.
Quote of the Week: David Perron on his shootout goal to defeat Washington: “It was kind of lucky, too. It hit the post and it hit his back and then goes in, but I’ll take it. It was a good feeling, but let’s keep building on that.”
