Blainville-Boisbriand signs victory in front of their fans Baie-Comeau still leads the semi-final series 2-1

BLAINVILLE-BOISBRIAND, P.Q. -Trailing 0-2 in their semi-final series Blainville-Boisbriand underlined their return in front of their fans signing a 4-1 victory against Baie-Comeau. Goaltender Etienne Marcoux earned the first star making 30 saves on Baie-Comeau 31 shots.

Four goals were scored in the opening period on Tuesday night in Blainville-Boisbriand. The Armada began on strong note breaking the ice with first goal of the game.

Two errors in the defensive zone by Baie-Comeau, first one by goaltender Philippe Cadorette and second one a bad coverage leaving the author of the goal uncovered in the slot.

Atoine-Dufort-Plante beat Drakkar netminder Cadorette on glove side at 8:49. Baie-Comeau didn’t wasted times to reply tying the score one-goal-a-piece only 33 seconds after the home team scored the first goal of the game.

Taking the first shot from the blue line Drakkar defenseman Gabriel Verpaelst force Armada goaltender to make a first save. Unable to control rebound Baie-Comeau right winger Alexandre Ranger take first shot, making the save Ranger took his rebound pushing the puck behind Cadorette for first Drakkar goal.

Another big mistakes in Baie-Comeau defensive zone left an opponent uncovered leading to second Blainville-Boisbriand goals. Left completely alone in the slot Armada center Marc-Olivier Roy wrist shot beat Drakkar netminder on glove side at 10:48.

Blainville-Boisbriand scored a third goal taking a two goals lead for the first time in the game. For third times in first period Baie-Comeau goaltender has been beaten for a third time on his glove side this time by defenseman Guillaume Beaudoin less than 4:00 later.

Baie-Comeau played much better in middle frame after they thought they had scored a second goal in the beginning of second period with the puck clearly behind the goal line, referee Brad Mills never gave any signed of waving off the goal but arrived at the announcer bench he said the goal wasn’t good because he whistled the play because he loose the sight the puck.

The Dkarrar defenseman Guillaume Beaudry missed an excellent chance to cut Blainville-Boisbriand leads to one goal only as he missed an empty with less than a minute left in the second period.

Only one goal was scored in the third period and after being 0-in-6 with a man advantage Blainville-Boisbriand scored a fourth goal their first with a man advantage. Nikita Jevpalovs with a one-timer gave no chance to Baie-Comeau netminder at 13:50.
