Blainville-Boisbriand bounces back with shutout victory at home Armada goaltender Marcoux registered his second shutout of the current playoff

QUEBEC CITY, P.Q. —Trailing 2-0 in their semi-final series against Baie-Comeau Drakkar Blainville-Boisbriand needed a solid performance back home to get back in the series. One goal in each period, two out of three with a man advantage led the Armada to a 3-0 win against the Drakkar.

Baie-Comeau, Blainville-Boisbriand opened the scoring. Running at 26.6 percent (11-in-64) on the powerplay since the series began; scoring only 1-in-11 power play opportunities in that series, the Armada scored their first goal on their third powerplay chance in the opening period.

A shot from captain and defenseman Xavier Oullet from the blue line went through traffic and beat Baie-Comeau goaltender Philippe Cadorette at 11:02. The Armada dominated the shots on goal in the period 12-3.images

Winning their battle along the board, driving to the net with more efficiency and being disciplined, Blainville-Boisbriand scored the only goal in the second period with only 2:03 gone. After making the first save on Yanick Cisse, first shot the best goalie in 2012-13 playoff wasn’t able to do anything on the rebound shot taken by Ryan Tesink who scored his 1st of the playoff after recently coming back after missing most of the season and first two rounds of the playoff.

Trailing the series by two games, leading by two after forty minutes of play it became imperative for Blainville-Boisbriand head coach Jean-Francois Houles that his team continue to keep the focus to the game and keep playing the plan to a “T” to make sure to get their first register their first win in that semi-final series.

Already registering their first goal with a man advantage being 1-in-11 in the game with over 17:00 to play in third period the Armada made their opponent pay the price scoring their third goal in the game their second in 12 opportunities in the game.

Christopher Clapperton took a rebound shot from a one-timer from Marc-Olivier Roy beating Baie-Comeau netminder with 2:47 gone in the third stanza. This goal became the insurance goal leading to Blainville-Boisbriand first victory in the series.

Game four of the series will be play on Wednesday night.
