BRIDGEPORT, CT – The Hershey Bears showed why they won 60 games during the regular season to set an AHL record with a 7-2 win over the Bridgeport Sound Tigers to take a commanding 3-0 series lead. The Bears scored the game’s first six goals and never looked back.
Andrew Gordon and Alexandre Giroux scored twice and got help form Steve Pinizzotto and Kyle Wilson as well while Greg Maudlin and Jeremy Reich scored for Bridgeport. The Bears went 3-4 on the power play but the Sound Tigers did not score on four of their own chances.
Hershey outshot Bridgeport 34-24 with Michal Neuvirth starting his second game in a row for Hershey.
Scott Munroe and Mikko Koskinen shared the goaltending duties for Bridgeport.
