HERSHEY, PA – The Hershey Bears had to earn a come-from-behind victory in their opening round playoff series against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in a thrilling 4-3 overtime victory. Down 3-1 heading into the third period, the Bears scored twice in the third by Francois Bouchard and Mathieu Perreault who scored with only 1:08 left in the game.
Andrew Joudrey won the game 4:08 into overtime to give the Bears a 1-0 series lead. The win will serve as a wakeup call for a team that set an AHL record 60 wins this past season and now know that they will be in a dog fight the rest of the series.
Hershey outshot Bridgeport 33-24 despite being outshot 9-3 after the first period. Game Two will also be in Hershey Friday night.
