VANCOUVER, BC – In a tune-up Friday for the Heritage Classic on Sunday, the Vancouver Canucks lost to the Minnesota Wild, 2-1, in shootout. On Saturday, it is the BC Place opportunity to get ready for the outdoor game.
Final preparation were being made early Saturday as the last installations for the ice and boards were completed. With about 30 minutes left before the Canucks take the ice for the practice the finishing touches have been made.
Current forecasts call for snow from Saturday night through game time on Sunday. But the retractable roof on the BC Place facility is open and the cold Vancouver air is circulating throughout the building.
The press box is open and there is every expectation that we will have a chance to see and feel the snow flying by game time Sunday.
