Baby Pens top Tigers, 2-1

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — John Curry made 32 saves and Chris Minard and Jeff Taffe each scored to lead the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to a 2-1 victory over the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Wednesday night. The Penguins lead the series 3-1 and have a chance to close out Bridgeport at home on Friday night. Minard opened the scoring with his team-leading fourth of the playoffs at 15:04 of the first period, with Taffe and Alex Goligoski picking up assists. Taffe scored what would turn out to be the game-winner on a power play 1:25 into the second. Bridgeport cut the lead in half, when Ben Walter scored with a man advantage with 4:30 left in regulation. But Curry stood tall, pacing Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to its eight consecutive playoff road win over Bridgeport.
