Kidney returns to Cyclones

CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Cincinnati Cyclones, ECHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced that forward Liam Kidney has signed with the team ahead of the 2026-27 season. With his signing, Kidney will play in his first full professional season with the Cyclones. Kidney, 25, appeared in 19 games with Cincinnati last season after the conclusion of his collegiate career at Acadia University. At the end of his initial stint with the Cyclones, Kidney recorded eight points (4g-4a) to conclude the 2025-26 campaign. Nilsson joins Goatheads

RIO RANCHO, N.M. – The New Mexico Goatheads, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Colorado Avalanche and American Hockey League’s Colorado Eagles, announced that the team has signed defenseman Edvin Nilsson to a contract for the 2026-27 season. Nilsson joins New Mexico following a career-best season in the British Columbia Hockey League, recording 43 points (7g-36a) in 54 games between the Vernon Vipers and Chilliwack Chiefs. Demsey agrees to terms with Icemen

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Icemen, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Minnesota Wild and the American Hockey League’s Iowa Wild, announced that the team has agreed to terms with defenseman Zane Demsey for the 2026-27 season. Demsey, 24, will make his professional debut with the Icemen this season after four years of college hockey. He played at Miami University for three seasons before transferring to Northern Michigan University for his senior season. WHEELING, W.Va. – The Wheeling Nailers announced the team has signed forward Tanner Hartman to a contract for the 2026-27 season. Hartman, 24, is ready to begin his professional career, following four years of college hockey. He played his first two seasons at Hobart College, where he enjoyed tremendous success both individually and with the team. GLENS FALLS, N.Y. – The Adirondack Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s New Jersey Devils and American Hockey League’s Utica Comets, announced that the club has signed veteran forward Shane Harper to a contract for the 2026-27 season. Harper, 37, played three games with the Thunder last season with two assists, as well as a game-winning goal against Wheeling on Dec. 13.
