READING, PA – Yale, North Dakota, Boston College, and Miami (Ohio) were given the top seeds in each of the four regionals in the upcoming 2011 Frozen Four tournament that will begin this Friday, March 25. Each regional will take place in Bridgeport , Ct; St. Louis, Mo; Manchester, N.H.; and Green Bay, Wi. This years automatic bids went to each conference tournament champions: Atlantic Hockey (Air Force), CCHA ( Miami), ECAC (Yale), Hockey East ( Boston College) and the WCHA ( North Dakota). Boston College is the defending NCAA champion. Union will be making it’s first ever tournament appearance while Michigan will be making its 21st consecutive appearance, the longest active streak and its 34 overall, the most in NCAA history. Michigan has won the most NCAA championships with nine, but have not won the title since 1998. Here is the complete schedule for the upcoming tournament.
