2011 Calder Cup Playoffs May 6 Review

CHICAGO, Ill. – The Houston Aeros took it to the Milwaukee Admirals as center Carson McMillian scored the game winning goal at 3:35 into the overtime period. The win for Houston tied up the West Division Finals at two games apiece.
The Aeros got two goals in the first period as left winger Colton Gillies potted his fifth goal of the playoffs at the 1:58 mark. Jed Ortmeyer and Warren Peters assisted on the goal. The second goal came on the power play as Chad Rau and Maxim Noreauprovided the helpers on right winger Patrick O’Sullivan’s goal at just under ten minutes into the period.
Milwaukee came back with two of their own to finish the game in regulation tied at two.   Andreas Thuresson scored with the loan assist from Kelsey Wilson with 5:32 left in the first. Aaron Johnson finished the scoring in regulation at the 13:12 mark of the second. Chris Muellar and Mark Santorelli provided the helpers on the power play goal.
Milwaukee gave goaltender Matt Hackett a walk in the park as he faced only 13 shots on net in the whole game allowing two goals. Jeremy Smith suffered the loss taking 33 shots.
Friday night, all teams in the division finals are playing. In the East Binghamton and Charlotte can advance to the finals with a win While all the teams in the West are deadlocked at two games apiece.
