2009 NCAA Frozen Four brackets set

READING, Pa – Let the Madness begin. The other March Madness that is. The 2009 NCAA Frozen Four tournament is officially set. Here are the matchups in each of the four regionals. Northeast Regional (Manchester, N.H.) 1 Boston University (Hockey East) vs. 4 Ohio State (CCHA) 2 North Dakota (WCHA) vs. 3 New Hampshire (Hockey East) East (Bridgeport, Conn. ) 1 Michigan (CCHA) vs. 4 Air Force (Atlantic Hockey) 2 Yale (ECAC) vs. 3 Vermont (Hockey East)

West (Minneapolis, MN)

1 Denver (WCHA) vs. 4 Miami (Ohio) (CCHA) 2 Minnesota-Duluth (WCHA) vs. 3 Princeton (ECAC) Midwest (Grand Rapids, Mich.) 1 Notre Dame (CCHA) vs. 4 Bemidji State (CHA) 2 Northeastern (Hockey East) vs. 3 Cornell (ECAC) Some schools reached the tournament by an automatic bid. This occurred when the following schools won their respective conference tournaments. The schools that reach by automatic bids and a breakdown of each conference with the number of schools representing that conference in brackets. Atlantic Hockey Air Force (1) CCHA Notre Dame (4) WCHA Minnesota-Duluth (3) CHA Bemidji State (1) ECAC Yale (3) Hockey East Boston University (4) Of course, there is always controversy whenever the NCAA picks teams for its respective tournaments. If we look at the national rankings as of March 16th, St. Lawrence (ECAC) had a 21 win season and are on the outside looking in. RIT (Atlantic Hockey had a 20 win season and are also sitting this one out. Wisconsin had a 20 win season, but also had 16 losses.
